SAARLAND

SAARLAND

Young men is represented as scared. This is shown throw movement, the scared character was shacking, this was captioned with a close up on his hands. The scared character relies on the leader to help him, this represents him as scared because he wants to be comforted by the leader. We used a two person shoot to presented the two characters shoulder to shoulder which shows the audience that the scared character is being comforted by the leader. The camera looks down at the scared character and makes him look weak with no authority. We used a fast cutting rhythm to express that the leader was helping him quickly.

Young male character as represented is as religious, this is represented with the use of the bible and his cross. This character was always reading his bible and holding his cross close, this was expressed with a close up of his hands holding a bible with cross inside of the bible. We also used sound to express that he is the religious character. The use of sound was him constantly praying. Be for he gets out of the truck he kisses the cross and puts in on, this expresses that god will aways be close to him and will protect him. Another close up on his hands is used to show this to the audience.

Young male presented as responsible, this character is represented as responsible because of his actions. This character is also seen as a father figure, we present this to audience with him giving his jacket to the scared character. Tracking shot is used when he is giving his jacket to the scared character, this is used to express to the audience how much they are moving in the truck. We also used a fast cutting rhythm, this is used to express how cold one character and how quickly the other character is moving. He is also seen writing a letter for his family. This presents him as educated, because he is educated he is seen as a leader because he is seen as smarter than the other character. A extreme close up on his hands is used when he is writing the letter so the audience knows he is  writing a letter.

Young male represented as unstable, this character shows the audience that he is unstable with his actions and dialogue. This character's first action is him looking around the truck, his eyes looked troubled and has clearly been change by the war. This character is the only one to kill a person in the opening three minutes. I used a motivational cut, when he gets back he has blood on his face and laughs. This represents him as unstable because he enjoyed killing the german. The other characters look at him with a disturbed look, this further more informs the audience that his reaction to killing a man is not right. When showing the audience the other character's reactions I used a fast cutting rhythm because they all felt the same way and I  wanted the audience to now that fast as possible.
